DAWN DAVIS - MANAGING DIRECTOR & RESIDENT ACTOR
Dawn recently appeared as Portia in JULIUS CAESAR and Mary Jane in JESUS HOPPED THE 'A' TRAIN with Praxis Stage. Favorite L.A. credits include Goneril in KING LEAR opposite Apollo Dukakis, Agnes in THE SHADOW BOX directed by Keith David and the title role in SAINT JOAN.
Dawn's short film, HARMONY, which she produced and starred in, premiered at the 2014 HollyShorts Film Festival at the TCL Chinese Cinema in Hollywood. It co-starred Chris Kerson (True Detective) and was directed by Logan Kibens (Operator).
Dawn is currently developing HELLS CANYON - a feature film that explores her obsession with complex female characters, transcendent storytelling and wilderness survival. DAYENNE C. BYRON WALTERS - RESIDENT DIRECTOR
Dayenne co-directed Praxis Stage's 2nd production in 2017 --JESUS HOPPED THE 'A' TRAIN. Her additional directing/producing credits are staged readings of COLLECTED STORIES, LOVE LETTERS, and this coming November, BALLYHOO IN THE HAIR KITCHEN. She will be also be directing a full production of FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE / WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF for Praxis Stage, which goes up in February, 2018.
As an actor, Dayenne has worked mainly with indie theatres, originating characters in contemporary plays --most lately Zora, in NIGHTHAWKS (Monroe Center, Lexington), Mama Beast, in MISS PENITENTIARY, (Boston Playwrights Theatre, Boston), and Oshun, in GIFT OF AN ORANGE (Tennessee Williams Festival, New Orleans and Provincetown). Other productions include WIT, (Hub Theatre, Boston), MACBETH, (It’s a Fiasco, Shakespeare in the Parks, Cambridge) UNITED STORY: BOSTON BEYOND TODAY (Boston Center for the Arts), THE LEFT HAND PLAYING (Burlington Players, Burlington), and The Doctor in EXIT THE KING (Actors Shakespeare Project, Boston).
DANNY MOURINO - RESIDENT ACTOR
For Praxis Stage, Danny appeared as Pissani in ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST, Octavius Caesar and Cinna the Conspirator in JULIUS CAESAR, Angel Cruz in JESUS HOPPED THE 'A' TRAIN, Bayard in INCIDENT AT VICHY, and Joe in scenes from WAITING FOR LEFTY at the Jamaica Plain PorchFest. He will be appearing as Inspector Pissani in the season opener, ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST.
Danny is a Boston native and Boston Arts Academy alumnus and made his professional debut in the 2003 Boston Fringe Theatre Festival, performing in INNER CITY BLUES with Tri-Cord Productions. Other credits include CLARA'S OLD MAN at the African American Theatre Festival, THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT and SPLENDOR with Company One.
Danny has performed with the theatre company, TC Squared since 2009 in several Staged Readings, including performances at W.H.A.T. (Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre) the Boston Playwright's Theatre and was part of the ensemble for THE GREAT WAR THEATRE PROJECT. Currently, he plays the part of Diego in THE PINEAPPLE DIARIES, a Boston based web series already in its second season.
ELIZABETH LORANTH - RESIDENT PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE
Elizabeth Loranth recently completed a run as Stage Manager for Praxis Stage’s JULIUS CAESAR. She also originated the role of Renata Porter, the righteous and sociable wife of Reverend Edward Porter, in DAEMONOLOGIE for Intramersive Media.
Elizabeth’s onstage credits include DRACULA, LOVE’S LABOURS LOST (Wellesley Players) and OTHELLO. She has appeared on film as Helena in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (Scorpio Films Releasing) and in the second season premiere of THE PINEAPPLE DIARIES (La Gringa Loca Productions).
Elizabeth is a licensed attorney and the founder of Bright Savage Theatre Project, where she produced and directed a gender-swapped, immersive adaptation of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW. This season, she will perform in ROMEO & JULIET and MACBETH for Bay Colony Shakespeare Company and lead tours of the paranormal history of Harvard Square with Cambridge Historical Tours.
MICHAEL ANDERSON - RESIDENT DRAMATURG
Michael is a First Amendment lawyer. After he takes off his tie, he talks to audiences in ways they don’t allow in federal court. For Praxis he recently appeared as The Chief in ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST and Julius Caesar in JULIUS CAESAR. Previous credits include The Gunpowder Plot’s A PALPABLE HIT (Writer and Narrator) and Happy Medium Theatre’s ROMEO AND JULIET (Capulet).
He has performed solo shows from San Francisco to London, including HALLUCINATING SHAKESPEARE at the Excel in 2014. He is the winner of the Bad Ad Hoc Hypothesis Festival at MIT and a four-time Story Slam champion.
Next to his wife and son, he loves George Orwell, the Queen’s Gambit in chess, and the first three Clash albums.
